WILLIAM PETERSON III
William Edward Peterson III, 63, Butternut, died in the Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was born in Park Falls on January 23, 1952, the son of William Jr. and Ida (Smart) Peterson. He was a 1970 graduate of the Butternut High School. He was married to Deborah Martinek at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut on April 24, 1971. He was employed as a Laser Operator by Marquip Inc. of Phillips from 1993 until the time of his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Butternut, and was a 20 year member of the Butternut Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, visiting with friends, and watching the Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah, by three children, Daniel (Christopher Murray), Appleton, WI, Kent, Butternut, and Sarah (Jeremy Matis) Peterson, Wausau; by two granddaughters; by seven brothers and sisters, Dennis (Judy) Peterson, Park Falls, James Peterson, Roberts, WI, Joan (The late Jim) Walker, Park Falls, Robert (Diane) Peterson, Butternut, Becky Peterson, Butternut, Bruce (Heidi) Peterson, Park Falls, and Kim Buechner, Butternut; by one sister-in-law, Carrie Peterson, Park Falls; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Eugene and Bradley Peterson.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 27, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut with Father Shaji Pazhukkathara celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
