ROBERT ANDERSON SR.
Robert Lee Anderson Sr., 87, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips while under the care of the attentive nursing home staff, Flambeau Home Health and Hospice, and his family on Thursday October 30, 2014. He was born in Phillips on April 4, 1927, the son of George and Ida Anderson. He was married to his wife of 67 years, Violet A. “Shirley” Nerison in Chicago, Illinois, on October 8, 1947. He started his working career with Lake Superior District Power Company, and then in 1948 was employed by the Price Electric CO-OP where he was employed as a lineman for 41 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Phillips.
He enjoyed all of his grandchildren. In his free time he loved fishing, playing cards, and attending stock car races. He always enjoyed his cars and pickups..
He is survived by his wife Violet “Shirley”; by two children, Robert (Barbara) Anderson Jr., Phillips, and Karen Anderson, Butternut; by five grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Merten, Scott (Julie) Anderson, Derek Anderson, Chad (Tammy) Dieman, and Chris “Jessi” Dieman; and by 9 great grandchildren, Jordan and Trent Dieman, Hunter and Parker Anderson, Chelsea and Chase Merten, Dakota, Danaya, and Daelyn Dieman.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, John “Piper”, Charles, and Billie Anderson; and by three sisters, Marion Bogdanovic-Kozak, Gloria DeMith, and Phyllis Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 5, at St. John Lutheran Church in Phillips with Rev. Thomas Reiff officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
