Randy Max Holmes

Randy M. Holmes, 60, Township of Elk, died on October 9, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family and his loving partner Kate while under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice.

Randy was born on Feb. 9, 1954, in Phillips to Max and Dorothy (Cress) Holmes.

He attended grade and high school in Phillips. He graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1972. He then attended U.W. Stevens Point where he majored in forestry.

He returned to Phillips where he began his working career as an employee for Dick Norum in the real estate field. He was then employed in the construction trades as a carpenter for many years.

He was a loving partner to Kate and a devoted father to Nathan. He had a strong bond with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.

He is survived by his partner Kate Strang, Township of Elk, his son Nathan, Eau Claire, hi mother Dorothy Holmes, Phillips, by 3 sisters: Merry (Leon) Kempen, Pewaukee, Wi., Peggy (Greg) Minks, Kennan, and Susan (Fran) Bushman, Phillips, by a special aunt Rachael (Glenn) Houck, Boomingdale, Ill., and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Max, his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

A celebration of his life will be held at Jamers (Bossmans) in Phillips on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 2:30 P.M.
