Pearl E. Olson, 96, Medford, died on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Aspirus Memorial Nursing Home, Medford.
She was born on July 27, 1918, in the Township of Ogema, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Lukes. She spent most of her life in the Price County area.
She was married to Elmer Olson on February 26, 1937, in Catawba They celebrated over 72 years of marriage together. Elmer preceded her in death on April 6, 2009. They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Ogema area for many years prior to their retirement.
In her free time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, reading, gambling, and especially spending time with her family and friends
She is survived by 3 daughters: Colleen (Bill) Hartwell, Mission, Tx., Jeanette (Manny) Bolz, Baraboo, Wi., and Florence (Dan) Makovsky, Medford, Wi., by 3 sons: Leland Olson, Catawva, Bryan (Pat) Olson, Phillips, and Alan Olson, Spokane, Wa., by 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great- great grandchildren..
She is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Elmer, by 2 brothers: Donald and Dennis Lukes, by 2 sisters: Ruby Brantner and Katherine Nussberger, by 2 grandsons: Clyde and Ron Olson, and by 1 daughter-in-law Jane Olson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Heindl Funeral Home, Prentice,, with Pastor Jody Becker officiating. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Ogema, at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. on Saturday March 14, 2015 until the time of the service.
