Myron R. "Mike" Matuszewski

MYRON MATUSZEWSKI
Myron R. “Mike” Matuszewski, 79, of Phillips, passed away peacefully at Lakeside Villa on January 7, 2019, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
He was born in Green Bay, WI, on February 17, 1939, to Theodore and Rose (Rosik) Matuszewski. He married Norma Lindsley on July 7, 1960. They were married for47 years.
Myron was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Father John Slowey K of C Council 2963 of Phillips, a member of the Phillips Lions Club. He served as a Phillips City Council member, and volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry. He was employed by Ben Franklin Stores as a Manager most of his working career, and from 1976 to 1986 owned and managed the Ben Franklin Store in Phillips. After leaving Phillips he managed Ben Franklin stores in Minocqua and Janesville, retiring in 2004.
In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cribbage was an avid Brewers and Packers fan, polka and square dancing with Norma, camping, golf, and playing accordion.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lynn (Howard) Neeck, Phillips, and Kristen (Stephen) Foster, Sneedville, TN; by his son, Patrick (Diane), Johnson Creek, WI; by one daughter-in-law, Denise (Curt) Axness, Schofield, WI; by seven grandchildren; by two sisters, Virginia Majeski, Green Bay, WI, and Sandy (Steve) Oge, Waldorf, MD; and by one brother, Ronald (Sheri), Green Bay, WI.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, on January 22, 1997; and is also preceded in death by one son, John; and by one granddaughter, Chelsea
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 10, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in Allout Chapel Mausoleum in Green Bay.
