Obituary for Mary Ann Bejcek

MARY KRIZAK BEJCEK
Mary Ann Bejcek formerly of Phillips passed away peacefully at the Friendly Village Nursing Home in Rhinelander on September 2, 2019 at the age of 95. Mary was born on March 23, 1924 in Emery, Wisconsin to John and Ann Simurdiak. She married Steve Krizak, in August, 1950. After his passing she married Ed Bejcek, in June, 1992.

She loved to fish taking many trips to Canada to catch the big ones. Gardening, sewing, completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, polka dancing and playing cards were her favorite activities. She enjoyed baking kolaches and preparing meals for her family. She was also active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with volunteer work, working on the farm and raising 4 children.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Simurdiak; her husbands, Steve Krizak and Ed Bejcek; and 10 siblings. Mary is survived by one sister, Frances “Dolly” Petruzalek of Phillips, and four children, Karen (Bob Turnquist) of Land O’Lakes, Barbara (Jerry Bock) of Three Lakes, Steve Krizak (Peggy) of Luck and Cathy (Jeff Mitchell) of Rothschild, WI. 10 grandchildren, including Eric Turnquist, Ironwood, MI, Alan (Erin) Turnquist, Houghton, MI, Joel (Jenny) Bock of Austin, TX, Ryan (Jamie) Bock, Three Lakes, WI, Carrie (CJ) Radtke, Big Sky, MT, Lisa (Kyle) Patrick, Rib Lake, WI, Steve Krizak, Milwaukee, WI, Jennifer Luedke, Luck, WI, Joseph (Azalea) Krizak, Luck, WI, Molli Mitchell, New Haven, CT and Carli Mitchell, Wausau, WI. She also has 16 great grand children.

Visitation will be held at 10:00, prior to the 11:00 mass at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Phillips on September 14, 2019, with Father Lourdu Raju Madanu celebrating the Funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Phillips Public Library in Mary Bejcek’s name.
