MARION YOUNG
Marion Ramona Young, 91, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillps on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. She was born in Phillips, Wisconsin, on September 26, 1928, the daughter of Louis and Marie “Mamie” (Hrubec) Vokurka. She was a 1946 graduate of the Phillips High School. She was married to Thomas Young in Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Phillips on September 25, 1954.She was employed by the Central Meat Market in Phillips and later owned and operated the business following the death of her parents. She later owned and operated the Second Time Around in Phillips. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. In her free time she enjoyed time with her granddaughters, and also bowling, cooking, reading, knitting, and visiting with her friends on the telephone. Marion was very proud of her Czech heritage.
She is survived by her children, Mary Kay (Brian Scullin) Young, Phillips, Robert (Michelle) Young, Phillips; by two granddaughters, Erin (Tyler) and Sydney (Kyle); and by one brother, Louis Vokurka, Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on May 31, 1996.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 27, at the Heindl Funeral Home in
Phillips with Pastor Carol Gabrielsen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home in Friday from
10:00 A.M. until the time of services. The family suggests that memorials take the form of an offering to
