After living 83 full years of life, Louise Whaples passed away unexpectedly in her sleep in the home she loved.
Louise made the world a better place each day, as she touched each individual she interacted with in her gentle, thoughtful way. Her lasting impression made you pause…
She was born Louise Esther Tyler in Hansen, Wisconsin,on August 16, 1931, the daughter of Jack and Marion (nee Hunter) Tyler. She was married to Howard Whaples for 37 years.
Louise attended Wood County Schools in Vesper, WI, for her elementary education, and graduated from Rudolph High School in 1949. She furthered her education by completing marketing coursework at North Central Technical Institute.
Louise’s working career began in the field of banking, as a teller. When she married , Louise became a dedicated homemaker, devoted mother and wife. Once Louise permanently moved to Phillips, she worked for many years at Graff’s Clothing Store, and ended her working career at Ball’s BP Station. Louise also ran a tax preparation business for many years.
Louise was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Arpin and Phillips, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Phillips Chamber of Commerce.
Louise was a home cook master chef and entertainer extraordinare, an accomplished seamstress, with a glowing green thumb for growing flowers and food for the family table. Louise enjoyed reading and movie viewing. She was an avid Brewer fan, viewing every game that was televised, as well as a Packer (Brett Favre) fa.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Paul) Dennis, Glendale, WI, and Judy (fiancée Daniel Stranz) Evans, Nekoosa, WI, by one brother, James Tyler, Lake Tomahawk, WI; and by two sisters, Nancy (Bernard) Schoultz, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Donna Duda, Kenosha, WI. She is preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Roth; and by three brothers, Donald, John, and Ronald Tyler.
At Louise’s request, no funeral services will be held. A celebration in her memory is being planned by her family for the Summer of 2015. If desired memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, or by planting a perennial flower in her memory in your garden. Louise will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
