HELEN KOZEY
Helen Ida Kozey, 89, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was born in Phillips on November 5, 1924, the daughter of Andrew and Zuzanna (Bartosik) Kaliska. She was a lifelong resident of Phillips. She attended the Hartmann School in the Town of Worcester and the Phillips High School. She was married to George Kozey in Phillips on September 11, 1948. She was employed the by Cranberry Lake Corporation, by Hatch’s Drug Store, and then by Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips until the time of her retirement. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church, and of the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post 5778 Auxillary. In her free time she enjoyed polka dancing and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Loreen, Norwood, Colorado; one brother, Paul (Donna) Kaliska, Phillips; by two grandchildren, Javin and Megan; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on March 30, 1965; by her son, Larry; by one grandchild, Garrett; by one brother, Andrew Kaliska; and by six sisters, Margaret Onchuck, Pauline Niebauer, Julia Dieman, Mildred Pisca, Anne Kaliska, and infant sister, Susan Kaliska.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 31, at St. John Lutheran Church in Phillips with Rev. Thomas Reiff officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
