They lived with his parents for a short time, and then built a wood frame home on the current family farm on Carpenter Creek Road. Edwin passed away in September of 1965. She sold the cattle at that time and went to work at the Phillips Plastics factory, and continued to work there until the time of her retirement in 1979. She is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed feeding birds and wildlife, and enjoying Nature, especially the flowering crabapple tree in her front yard.
