DAVID ALLAN MERITT
David A. Meritt, 59, Phillips, died on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on October 21, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Walter and Muriel (Morarie) Meritt. He spent his early life and schooling in Iowa and then made his home in Wisconsin
In his youth, he served his country in Germany in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1975. He was employed at various occupations with companies including Advanced Transformer of Monroe, Wi., Iroquois Foundry, Browntown, Wi., Greenco of Monroe, and then at Swiss Colony, Monroe, before making his home in Phillips in 2014.
He was married to Lori Walmer in June of 1989.
In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing video games, and socializing with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Lori (Walmer) Meritt, Park Falls, Wi., by 2 sons: Zachary (fiancé Destiny) Meritt, Phillips, and Kenny Edmonds, Detroit, Mi., by 1 daughter: Lacey (fiancé Paul Coulthard) Phillips, by 1 grandson Zander Meritt, by 2 Stepsons Benjamin Krueger, Fifield, and Bo Krueger, Curtiss, Wi., by 1 Stepdaughter: Brielle Heisz, Monroe, Wi., by 6 brothers and sisters: Martha (Delroy Kundert) Meritt, Monroe, Wi., Walter (Peggy) Meritt, Tomah, Wi., Donna (Dave) Creger, Cole Valley, Ill., Donald Meritt, Chicago, Steven Meritt, Brodhead, Wi., and Gina (Mike) Butson, Argyle, Wi.,
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held in Monroe, Wi., at a later date.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
