BLANCHE BARNET
Blanche Barnet, 88, Phillips, former Town of Harmony resident, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Sunday, December 21, 2014, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. She was born on December 2, 1926, in the Town of Harmony, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Svoboda) Perger. She attended Phillips High School, and then was employed by defense industries in Chicago, Illinois, during WWII. She was married to Frank Barnet in Phillips on May 31, 1947. The couple operated a dairy farm in the Town of Harmony. In later years she was a 13 year employee of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, working jig saw puzzles, and transporting friends who could not drive.
She is survived by four children, Sharon Lasica, Erie, CO, Duane (Sheryl), Catawba, Thomas (Janet), Marathon City, WI, and Debra (Bill) Smith, Park Falls, WI; by 10 grandchildren, and by 19 great grandchildren; by one brother, John Perger, Catawba; and by one sister, Tony Revak, Phillips. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; by three brothers, Jerry, Rudy, and Jim Perger; and by one sister, Anne Perger.
Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Phillips at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 29, with Pastor Loretta Waughtal officiating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
