Violet Alvina Pilch

July 28, 1938 — November 14, 2017

"Violet Alvina Pilch (nee: Risberg)age 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Aspirus Wausau hospital following a brief and unexpected illness.
She was born on July 28, 1938 in Phillips, Wisconsin to Leonard and Alvina (Kitzman) Risberg. She spent her childhood in Phillips, Wisconsin. She had a close and loving family and had a special relationship with her younger brother, who was born only a year after her. After attending and graduating from the Phillips High School, she moved with one of her lifelong friends to Rockford, Ill. where she worked in a bank. In 1958, she married Richard Bogdanovic and together they had three children. They later divorced and she moved back to Phillips with her children. In 1969, she married John "Skip" Pilch and they had one daughter. They later moved to Park Falls where she was still residing.

Vi's life was dedicated to her family and was always there for anyone who needed her. She spent most of her time as a homemaker and caring for children, her own and others. She was a sweet, gentle and kind hearted person. She was very compassionate and couldn't say no to kids or animals in need. She was "Aunt Vi" to everyone.

Over the years, she enjoyed family trips and having coffee with her friends and sister-in-laws. She loved to sew and do needlepoint. She was always making things for people, including baby blankets and buntings for any new babies who came along. She did this until her eyesight made it too difficult. One thing she enjoyed was decorating and turning something old and unwanted into an envied household
decoration. She also enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, antique collecting, teddy bears, ice cream, reading, baking and many other things. Every spring, she enjoyed planting flowers with one of her granddaughters. She also loved to watch ghost stories and the Home and Garden channel. Over the years she spent time helping out at church bazaars and just being there for people who needed her. Violet had a major
sweet tooth and always said "Life is short-eat dessert first!" She was also a lifelong Publishers Clearinghouse loser, although she never gave up hope. All in all, as her husband would say "She was a good egg!"
Violet is survived by her husband of 48 years, John "Skip" Pilch (Park Falls, WI), son Michael Bogdanovic (Clarksville, TN), daughter Karri Bogdanovic-Marinko (Clarksville, TN), son Steven Bogdanovic (Debbie-Phillips, WI), daughter Heather Pilch-Wenninger (Park Falls, WI), one brother Marvin Risberg (Carolyn-Milltown, WI), 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one great grandson "on the way". She is also survived by many other friends and relatives who will miss her immensely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alvina Risberg, older sister Annette Risberg, infant baby brother Lonnie, grandson Bronson Wenninger and granddaughter Michaela Webb-Bogdanovic.
